Annual Application
GCI gives back to the community through direct donations, in-kind services, and products totaling an estimated $2 million per year.

The GCI Gives Partnership

GCI's annual giving is an integral part of a commitment to fostering positive change in Alaska’s communities. The annual giving cycle provides nonprofits the opportunity to secure funding and support for their initiatives.
Focus areas
GCI focus areas include digital resilience, education and youth development, healthy communities, public safety, animal research and preservation, and culture and connection.
Variety of support offered
When applying, nonprofits can specify what type of support they are looking for. Options include cash donations, in-kind service credits, in-kind tech donations. Please note we no longer offer loaner devices.
Application process and timing
Nonprofits may submit an application for consideration from October 1 at 8 a.m. through November 7 at 5 p.m. AKDT. Requests must be submitted during this application period to be considered for funding for the following calendar year. Applicants will be notified in January of the funding decisions made.
Applicants must be an eligible, Alaska-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a current W-9 to apply. Please fill out the application in its entirety, provide a copy of your organization's 501(c)(3) status, a list of sponsorship levels and benefits, and any other relevant information. 

Our online request window is open Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. AKDT – Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. AKDT.

Contribution Guidelines

Projects that are not eligible include:
  • Publicly or privately funded K-12 educational institutions, including school auctions, PTA events, booster clubs, graduation parties, etc.
  • Rural Healthcare recipients.
  • Capital projects (e.g., building construction, major renovations, large equipment).
  • Clubs, teams, and recreational organizations, including youth sports and community groups.
  • Travel-related expenses (e.g., trips, transportation, lodging).
  • Pageants or similar competitions.
  • Individual request or personal incentives (e.g., GoFundMe).
    • All request must come from a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
  • Organizations raising funds on behalf of other nonprofits (pass-through donations).
  • Multi-year commitments or grants with automatic renewal.
  • Any group or project that discriminates based on race, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or national origin.
  • Note: GCI proudly supports athletes across Alaska through partnerships with the Alaska School Activities Association, UAA Athletics, UAF Esports, and more.
