Instructions for connecting GCI cable set boxes.
Connecting your digital converter box (DCT)
- Connect the digital converter to the TV and/or VCR/DVD/Blue Ray as show in diagrams below.
- Plug the digital converter into the wall outlet and turn the converter on so the channel number appears in the display. For the digital converters without a display, use your universal remote, and ensure that the red light indicates that power is on.
- It can take up to 2 hours for all the TV programs listings to appear in the interactive program guide.
- Tune the TV and/or VCR/DVD/Blue Ray to channel 3 (channel 4 in Juneau). Now the channels will be changed on the digital converter using the universal remote.
- Using the TV and/or VCR/DVD/Blue Ray codes in the universal remote manual you can program your universal remote to control both the TV and/or components.
Connecting your Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
- Connect your DVR to your TV via either HDMI or component connections.
- Connect the baseband audio cable to your TV as shown.
- The RF connection and VCR/DVD/Blue Ray are optional.
Connecting your Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and Home Theater
- Connect your DVR to your TV via either HDMI or component connections.
- Connect your DVR to your home theater receiver (or audio decoder) via either an optical digital audio cable or coaxial audio cable.
- Connect your VCR/DVD/Blue Ray to your other equipment via baseboard audio and video cables as shown below.
- The RF connection is optional.
