Anonymous call rejection

To activate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone
  2. Dial the Anonymous Call Rejection activation code: *77 (1177 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for the announcement stating the service is activated
  4. Hang up

To deactivate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone
  2. Dial the Anonymous Call Rejection deactivation code: *87 (1187 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for the announcement stating the service is deactivated
  4. Hang up

Call block

To activate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial *67 (1167 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Dial the phone number as usual
  4. The call recipient will see "private" on their phone screen instead of the caller's number

Call forwarding

Loop & DP

To activate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial the Call Forwarding activation code: 72# (1172 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for the dial tone
  4. Dial the phone number where you want your calls forwarded
  5. Let someone at that number know that you'll be forwarding your calls. If no one answers or if the line is busy:
    • Within 2 minutes, repeat steps 1-4
    • Listen for confirmation tones to let you know service is activated
    • Hang up. Calls will be automatically forwarded until you inactivate the service.

To deactivate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial the Call Forwarding deactivation code: 73# (1173 on a roatry dial phone)
  3. Listen for the confirmation dial tone that indicates the service has been deactivated
  4. Hang up

Wholesale

To activate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial the Call Forwarding activation code: *72 (1172 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for the dial tone
  4. Dial the phone number where you want your calls forwarded
  5. Let someone at that number know that you'll be forwarding your calls. If no one answers or if the line is busy:
    • Within 2 minutes, repeat steps 1-4
    • Listen for confirmation tones to let you know service is activated
    • Hang up. Calls will be automatically forwarded until you inactivate the service.

Caller ID with call waiting

  • While on a call, you will hear a different Call Waiting pattern — a higher pitched tone, a pause, and then only one regular sounding Call Waiting beep
  • The name and number associated with the call will appear on the display
  • Follow the regular Enhanced Call Waiting feature instructions to handle the call


Continuous redial

To activate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial the number you want to call
  3. When you hear the busy signal, press the switchhook (the talk/flash button on newer handsets) and release it quickly. Listen for a special dial tone. If you hung up, pick up the handset and listen for the normal dial tone.
  4. Dial the Continuous Redial activation code: *66 (1166 on a rotary dial phone)
  5. If the number is still busy, hang up, and your phone will automatically check the number for up to 30 minutes
  6. Listen for the call back ring that lets you know if the line becomes free

To deactivate

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial the Continuous Redial deactivation code: *86 (1186 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement and hang up

Enhanced call waiting

To activate

  1. While on a call, listen for an alert that indicates an incoming call with two separate tones or tone patterns
  2. Ask the person you're talking with to hold while you take the other call
    1. Quickly press and relase the switchhook (the talk/flash button on newer handsets) to be connected to the waiting call
    2. Use the switchhook to switch between the calls
  3. To end the original call, press the switchhook for more than one second or hang up

To cancel

Before a call

  1. Pick up the phone and listen for the dial tone
  2. Dial *70 (70# in Eagle River, 1170 on a rotary dial phone)
  3. Listen for three short tones and a dial tone
  4. Dial the phone number you wish to call
  5. When you've finished your call, hang up. (Call Waiting service is activated again for subsequent calls.)

During a call (requires Three-Way Calling or another switchhook service)

  1. While on a call, quickly press and release the switchhook (the talk/flash button on newer handsets)
  2. Listen for the dial tone
  3. Dial *70 (70# in Eagle River, 1170 on a rotary dial phone)
  4. Listen for the three short tones that confirm you've canceled Call Waiting for the call. (You'll be reconnected to your call automatically.)

Follow Me Call Forwarding

To activate

  1. Dial the number to access Follow Me Call Forwarding service for your location
    • Anchorage: 907-868-0080
    • Fairbanks: 907-374-0080
    • Juneau: 907-523-0080
  2. Listen for instructions, and dial the 10-digit phone number you want to be forwarded
  3. Confirm the phone number and enter the PIN
  4. Listen for the instructions, then dial the activation code: 72#
  5. Listen for the instructions, then dial the number for calls to be forwarded to
    • If the number is correct, dial 1
    • If the number is incorrect, dial 0
  6. Hang up

To deactivate

  1. Dial the number to access Follow Me Call Forwarding service for your location
    • Anchorage: 907-868-0080
    • Fairbanks: 907-374-0080
    • Juneau: 907-523-0080
  2. Listen for instructions, and dial the 10-digit phone number that's being forwarded
  3. Confirm the phone number and enter the PIN
  4. Listen for the instructions, then dial the deactivation code: 73#
  5. Listen for the instructions, then dial the number that the calls are being forwarded to
    • If the number is correct, dial 1
    • If the number is incorrect, dial 0
  6. Hang up
