How to connect Sagemcom cable modem

Before you begin, make sure you have the following: 

a. Cable modem
b. WiFi Pod
c. Power cord
d. Coaxial cable cord
e. Ethernet cable
f. WiFi enabled device (phone/tablet)
g. MyGCI credentials

 

 

Then follow these steps:

  1. Use the coaxial cable cord (d.) to connect the cable modem (a.) to an active cable outlet on the wall in your home.

  2. Connect the cable modem (a.) to the provided power cord (c.) and then plug into an electrical outlet.


  3. Connect one end of the ethernet cable (e.) to the cable modem (a.), and the other end to the ethernet port on the WiFi Pod (b.). If your WiFi Pod doesn't have a globe icon, use either port.
  4. Plug WiFi Pod (b.) into a wall outlet.


  5. Give us a call at 800-800-4800 or send a chat on gci.com so we can activate your service. After we activate the modem, it will take just a few minutes for it to reboot.
  6. Download the AK-Fi Home app and install it on your mobile device.
  7. Use your MyGCI credentials to log in.
  8. Follow the instruction in the setup wizard and click “All Done.” Your network will be ready to go in just a few minutes.

For the best GCI Internet experience, make sure it’s your only active internet connection. Having multiple networks active at the same time can cause interference and reduce the quality of your internet performance.
