Changing the Employee Zone SSID
- From the home screen tap the gear icon on the top-right to access the Settings page.
- Tap on Employee Wi-Fi
- Tap on the pencil icon and enter the new SSID. The name used must be different from the Secure and Guest zones.
Changing the Employee Zone Password
- While on the Employee Wi-Fi settings page, use the Show button to reveal the current password.
- Tap on the Ellipses next to the password and then Edit
- Enter the new password and tap on Apply
Any devices currently using the previous password will need to be updated with the new password. The Copy option will allow you to copy and paste the new password into an email for your employees.
Adding Employees
- Tap the options on the top right of the Employee Zone to start the New employee flow.
- Enter the employee name. A generic avatar will be assigned automatically. Swiping right on the avatar will let the user choose from more specific avatars.
- Tap on the camera icon to allow the user to choose to either Take a new profile picture or Select Profile Picture from the device.
- Once the name and image have been saved, tap on Next to bring up primary device assignments.
The second step is to Assign devices to the new employee. (Additional devices can also be assigned later from the device's options.)
Assigning a device from either the Unapproved devices list or the Blocked devices list to an employee automatically puts it in the Approved devices list and removes it from Unapproved.
Once a name has been saved and devices assigned, a Next button will appear on the top right.
Assigning Devices
After tapping Next from the New employee flow, the admin can now Assign a primary device to the employee.
If unassigned during the flow, the Primary device can be assigned later from the Employee details screen.
The Primary device is used to determine when the employee is at work.
The day is defined from midnight to 11:59 p.m. If an employee is working a shift that overlaps the end of day cutoff, they will be shown leaving at 11:59 p.m. and returning at midnight again.
Employee Options
Once the employee has all their devices assigned, additional employee settings can be configured.
Digital Access and Shield features including Application Monitoring, Content Access, Online Protection, and Adblocking can now be applied at the Employee's level.
Limiting Access to New Devices
To ensure the security of your WorkPass network, it is recommended that you always enable the Limited network access for new devices option. This setting prevents any new devices that connect to this zone from connecting to other local devices until approved by an administrator.
Removing an Employee
- Navigate to the employee zone and tap on the employee
- Tap on the Ellipses on the top-right of the employee detail page
- Tap on Remove person. A prompt will remind you that all historical data consumption for that person will be deleted
- Tap on I understand to confirm
- Another prompt will give you two choices:
- Remove and don't block - All previously assigned devices can still connect to the Employee zone and the internet but will lose local access.
- Remove and block - All previously assigned devices will have both local and internet access blocked.
