As a community, state, nation, and world, we are facing a situation not experienced in our modern lifetimes. We are well-prepared to provide the services you rely on, and while no one has a clear historical perspective due to the nature of the coronavirus pandemic, GCI has taken steps to serve you through this time.
GCI has taken an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach, continually adapting our preparedness and business continuity plans to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic.
To keep Alaska connected, GCI has put together a variety of options and offers for Alaska households to stay connected online. As we all pull together to help prevent the spread of illness, we know families are spending much more time at home. And connecting online is more important than ever — for your job, schoolwork, or just to stream the series everyone is IMing about at work.
That’s why we have announced some special options for our neighbors — because that’s the Alaska Way.
For current GCI Internet customers: Free internet upgrades until May 31, 2020 →
For households without GCI Internet: Free entry level internet until May 31, 2020 →
We've signed the Keep Americans Connected Pledge
We have joined other carriers across the nation in signing the Keep Americans Connected Pledge, helping ensure our customers stay connected during this critical time.
GCI pledges for the next 60 days to:
• Not terminate service to any small business or residential customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to COVID-19.
• Waive late fees any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances due to COVID-19
• Open our Wi-Fi hotspots to any American who needs them.
If your ability to pay is impacted by this pandemic, please contact us so we can work with you individually to waive late fees and avoid suspended service.
GCI remains committed to its 2020 nonprofit partnerships through its philanthropic program, GCI Gives. All existing funding commitments for events in Spring of 2020 will remain unchanged in the wake of the current coronavirus pandemic.
During these challenging times, GCI Gives program leaders are actively identifying ways to increase direct funding, in-kind services and products for its Alaska nonprofit partners in the midst of ongoing canceled events, social distancing, and shelter-in-place directives.
For more than 40 years, GCI has partnered with organizations small and large, to pursue their goals and overcome technological barriers to success. Get in touch to learn about the ways we can help your organization meet its objectives.
