ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – GCI TV powered by TiVo and GCI’s new G-Series plans are now available to seven new Alaska communities, including Sitka, Homer, Seward, Petersburg, Wrangell, Cordova and Valdez.

“TiVo is an exciting, interactive entertainment and communication tool, and GCI is pleased to expand this service to new communities across Alaska,” said GCI Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Services Paul Landes. “We strive to be on the forefront of the technology services, and with TiVo more GCI customers can now experience this advanced television service at home as well as on the go.”

Using an Emmy Award winning recommendation engine, GCI TV powered by TiVo allows consumers to easily search for entertainment options on TV, Video On Demand, Amazon Plus and Opera TV. Also, with the TiVo stream, consumers on the go can download their favorite shows to their tablet and watch them later, even without an Internet connection.

GCI’s new G-Series plans deliver the best value available from service providers across the country. With packages starting as low as $29.99 customers can get almost 200 of the most popular TV channels.

In addition to these newly added communities, TiVo service is currently available in Anchorage, Chugiak, Girdwood, Eagle River, Wasilla, Palmer, Juneau, Fairbanks, Eielson AFB, Fort Wainwright, North Pole, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Kenai and Soldotna.
