GCI and Alaska Airlines bring fans from across Alaska to the 2015 GCI Great Alaska Shootout

Four Alaskans will face off in 1-million-mile shot contest at championship game

Anchorage, Alaska – GCI, Alaska’s largest telecommunications company, is teaming up with Alaska Airlines to bring basketball fans from across the state to the 2015 GCI Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. A trip to the Shootout is not the only thing up for grabs, though, everyone who attends will have a chance to win 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles, tech prizes and more, at every game.

Alaskans can enter to win a trip to the 2015 GCI Great Alaska Shootout by visiting www.gci.com/shootout now through Thursday, Nov. 5. Four entrants will be randomly selected to receive in-state roundtrip airfare depending on location, lodging, tournament tickets and a $500 VISA gift card as well as a chance to make unforgettable memories with their family and friends over Thanksgiving weekend. The four finalists will meet center court during the championship game to face off in the 1-million-mile, half-court shot contest. 

While only one winner will take home the grand prize, GCI Shootout attendees will have a chance to win prizes at every game. Alaska-based title sponsor GCI will offer everyone a chance to win 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles, six months of 1 GIG red Internet service, autographed Shaquille O’Neal swag items and much more at the women’s and men’s 16 Shootout games.

The 2015 GCI Shootout will take place Tuesday, Nov. 24 – Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Alaska Airlines Center on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. Teams competing in this year’s GCI Shootout men’s tournament include hometown favorite University of Alaska Anchorage; Division I teams Drexel, Loyola (Ill.), Middle Tennessee State, University of North Carolina Asheville, 2009 tournament runner-up San Diego, San Jose State and Toledo. For the women's division, University of Alaska Anchorage will be up against George Mason, Pepperdine and reigning Conference USA champion Western Kentucky for the title of GCI Shootout champion.
