GCI Brings New Technology To Nome

Launch of 3G Data Speeds And Popular TiVo Service

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – GCI recently launched 3G mobile data speeds and GCI TV powered by TiVo in Nome, bringing the community an amplified entertainment and mobile experience. To celebrate, GCI will host a customer appreciation event, complete with such prizes as 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles, smartphones, a tablet, and Monster DNA headphones. This free public event will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, from 2 – 5 p.m., at the GCI store, located at 110 Front St.

In December, GCI turned up 3G wireless service in Nome. This network upgrade will deliver improved mobile data speeds, which give customers faster web browsing, audio, video streaming, and more.

Customers in Nome can now also take full advantage of GCI TV powered by TiVo. Using TiVo, customers can access entertainment and social content anywhere they want, from their TV to their mobile devices. Using a four-time Emmy Award-winning recommendation engine, GCI TV powered by TiVo allows consumers to easily find, record and view entertainment options on TV, On Demand as well as online from popular websites and applications like Netflix, Amazon, Pandora, YouTube and much more. Also, with TiVo Stream, consumers can watch their favorite programs when and where they want on their tablet or smartphone, even without an Internet connection.
