April 9, 2015

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The latest and most anticipated premium Android smartphones will arrive to GCI stores this month. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will be a welcome addition to the device lineup. The Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones is the preferred Android smartphone for many GCI customers, many of whom have been waiting for these new models to be available to upgrade. Preregistration for both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is available now on GCI’s website.

Preregistration is also available for the HTC One M9, and it will available to purchase on April 10. The HTC One M9 keeps the sleek metal design and adds the latest version of Android as well as new highly customizable software. Also notable, the HTC One M9 has expandable memory, a feature that is now rare in the world of premium smartphones.

Finally, the Google Nexus 6 will join the Android smartphone selection available to GCI wireless customers. Introduced as a “pocket Internet device” the Nexus 6 has a large 6-inch Quad HD display, runs the latest Android Lollipop operating system and has tough Gorilla Glass.

All of these smartphones are 4G LTE capable devices, giving GCI wireless customers access to the very latest devices and advanced technology. GCI operates the largest wireless network in Alaska, serving more than 200 communities and provides the fastest 4G LTE data speeds.

These devices will be available at 38 GCI retail stores across the state and at www.GCI.com.

“It is an amazing feeling and privilege, providing high-tech device technology to our most northern community of Barrow. The residents are happy to have a reliable source of communication that supports their lifestyle. We couldn’t be more proud to service this community,” said GCI Area Stores Manager Roxy Marcy.
