ANCHORAGE, Alaska – In response to natural disasters in Florida, Mexico and throughout much of the Caribbean, GCI will waive all fees associated with voice calls and texts to impacted areas through Sept. 15.
“As many communities deal with the devastating damage of Hurricane Irma, and others with the large earthquake in Mexico, GCI understands the importance of being able to keep in touch with loved ones during time of crisis,” said Paul Landes, senior vice president, Consumer Services. “GCI made this decision so our customers can check on family and friends in communities dealing with these natural disasters without concern for charges.”
GCI customers can make voice calls and texts to the following areas free of charge through Sept. 15:
• St. Martin
• Turks and Caicos
• Puerto Rico
• U.S. Virgin Islands
• British Virgin Islands
• Dominican Republic
Free service is for valid calls made from landlines as well as wireless devices. Customers are not required to take any action on their account before calling or texting family or friends in Florida, Mexico or the listed Caribbean communities.
