Mingle with animals at GCI Petting Zoo, tune in to 21st annual Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA — The Alaska State Fair kicks off today and that means it’s time for baby animals and giant cabbages. Alaska born-and-raised company GCI is proud to support the Alaska State Fair, including bringing Alaskans across the state coverage of the 21st annual Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off at 10 p.m. on Sept. 2, on Channel 907.

Back by popular demand, the GCI Petting Zoo will be open daily throughout the fair, Aug. 25 - Sept. 5., from noon – 8 p.m., where visitors of all ages are invited to mingle with Alaska baby animals. After visiting the GCI Petting Zoo, fairgoers are encouraged to visit the GCI team inside the Raven Hall where all new internet customers will take home a free Apple TV.

Additionally, GCI will offer statewide HD coverage of the 21st annual Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. GCI’s new Channel 907 is the go-to channel for Alaskans looking to catch the larger-than-life action as the state’s best growers go head to head in pursuit of a new world record. The weigh-off will also be available OnDemand on Saturday, Sept. 3.
