Anchorage, Alaska – Community donations of nonperishable items are being collected at GCI stores in Kenai and Soldotna to support crews fighting the Card Street Fire.
“It’s great to see our tightknit community come together to support the firefighters battling the Card Street Fire. GCI is here to help where we can, and right now that means as a collection site for support crew materials,” said GCI’s Soldotna Store Manager Denise Nyren. “Like during the Funny River Fire last year, GCI is committed to our community and firefighters in this time of need.”
The Division of Forestry is requesting nonperishable donation items for fire crews, including:
- Trail mix
- Granola bars
- Sports drinks (Gatorade, Vitamin Water or similar)
Donation drop-off locations and hours:
- GCI store in Kenai, 10419 Kenai Spur Highway
10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday
- GCI store in Soldotna, 44661 Sterling Highway
9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday
