Welcome To Your GCI Voice Mail

Introduction

Now you never have to miss an important message because Voice Mail:
  • Can answer your calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week with your own personalized greeting.
  • Will take calls, send messages, retrieve messages -- even notify you when new messages arrive.
  • Takes accurate, detailed messages.
  • Keeps your messages completely private with personal passwords.
  • Lets you check messages from any touch tone phone.


Getting Started

The first time you use your GCI Voice Mail, just follow the tutorial voice prompts which will take you through the steps to set up your new mailbox.

Dial the Voice Mail system at 868-0068 from any touch tone phone.

Press # when the system greeting begins.

Enter your mailbox phone number.

Enter your temporary password (the last 5 digits of your mailbox phone number).

Follow the voice prompts to:

  • Create your new personal password (can be 4 to 15 digits).
  • Record your name and personal greeting.

Accessing Your Mailbox

There are two ways to access your mailbox.

Dial your mailbox number.

  • Press 9 during your greeting.
  • Enter password.

                             OR

Dial the Voice Mail system at 868-0068.

  • Press # during system greeting.
  • Enter mailbox number.
  • Enter password.

Reviewing Your Messages

To review your unheard voice messages, press the following numbers in sequence:

After Message Review

Your mailbox can receive and store a maximum number of messages. When your mailbox is full, you cannot receive more messages, so you should routinely erase unneeded messages.

Sending Your Messages

Exchange messages with other Voice Mail subscribers without actually placing a phone call to a person.

To send messages:

  • From Main Menu, press 2
  • End recording #
  • Enter mailbox number
  • To send, press #

OutCall Notification

Have your GCI Voice Mail call you at any local cellular, pager, or regular phone number when you have new messages, based on a schedule you set.  Please call GCI Customer Service to program your pager number.

From the Personal Options Menu:

  1. Turn Outcall Notification "on."
  2. Set up Outcall Notification schedule:
    • Designate number at which you wish to be notified (must be a local phone number).
    • Establish notification schedule.
    • Indicate type of messages you would like to be notified about.
    • Set how soon to call you after message arrives.
