Since then, I've taken on a role as ambassador, as I've found that it's an effective way to change hearts. "I was born and raised into a trade family on the Kenai Peninsula. I like working and learning with my hands, so I knew I wanted to also go into the trades. I trained as a journeyman electrician before I started as a contracted cable splicer for GCI. I decided to join the team after working alongside so many great people and watching how they treated each other. It was truly like a family. What's more? Every day is different, and I get to spend my time outdoors in Alaska! I've had the privilege of working in Kodiak, the Aleutians, and on the Kenai during my time with GCI, and I'm just getting started."

BLACQ BRG

The BLACQ (Black Leaders and Allies Championing eQuality) BRG began in 2024. The group serves to represent the interests of the Black Community, spread cultural education and awareness, and provide relevant professional networking and development opportunities.

GWeN

Since 2015, GWeN (GCI Women's Empowerment Network) has been the GCI BRG that connects, inspires, and empowers women to reach their full potential as leaders in the telecommunications industry, in their communities, and in the lives of each other.

Indigenous BRG

Established in 2022, the GCI Indigenous BRG's mission is to ensure that Indigenous peoples, their cultures, traditions, and ways of life are recognized and treated with respect within GCI and the communities we serve.

PRIDE

PRIDE began in 2022 with a mission to recognize, celebrate, and leverage GCI's network of employees who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirit, and beyond (LGBTQ2+).
