GCI ANNOUNCES SALE OF FIBER OPTIC CAPACITY
ANCHORAGE, AK - - GCI (NASDAQ:GNCMA) announced
today it has completed a sale of fiber capacity in its long-haul
fiber optic network in a cash transaction of $19.5 million. The
transaction was the consummation of a previously announced
agreement. The sale includes both capacity within Alaska, and
between Alaska and the lower 48 states.
Under terms of the agreement, bandwidth capacity and terms of
service will not be disclosed.
GCI's network is a high-capacity fiber optic communication
system connecting Alaska's major population centers with the
contiguous 48 states. GCI constructed the fiber optic network to
meet its own capacity requirements, plus those of a limited number
of potential broadband customers.

delivers voice, video and data services to residential, business
